We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas,we had such a great visit to New Brunswick! I can't believe how lucky we were with our flights, no cancellations and minimal delays! In Burton we were very lucky compared to most in respect to only having lost our power for 24 hours. Mom and Dad's new propane fire place kept us nice and toasty and we spent our Christmas eve afternoon and evening playing games and drinking wine. The power came on just in time to cook our Christmas Eve pizza! New Maryland did not lose their power at all but my good friends the Merritts in Queenstown were without power for 7 days!!
It was not as hard getting into our car as I had thought it would be after it had sat in the park and fly during the ice storm. The weather had been mild the day we flew back and there was only a small amount of ice on the windows.
Butter survived just fine in our absence but definitely is acting happy now that we are back. I think she gained some Christmas pounds so she is going on a kitty diet for the new year!
We spent a quiet New Years Eve in, we watched a movie, played some games and enjoyed a bottle of Champagne. We did manage to stay up until midnight but were in bed shortly after. We try not to put too much hype into the evening but it was nice and relaxing.
We do not have as much snow as NB does but the past few days have turned really cold and there has been wind chill warnings. I am hoping it warms up over the next few days as I am already tired of winter and spring is welcome now anytime although it would be nice if we were able to get in a few snow shoeing days before then!
