I have been busy in the lab lately trying to pump out results. I have been paired-up with a high school student that I have been mentoring. It has been a slow process but I am almost confident enough in his abilities to allow him to take over my lab maintenance duties.

We unfortunately did not make it out skating yet this year. Unseasonable warmth has minimized the skating season. Although we may go to the indoor rink this Sunday. We did manage to get out sliding once, but again the lack of snow made it more like sliding on dirt. Our snowman is our crowning winter achievement and since he is the shadow of the apartment and receives no direct sunlight he is holding-up very well.

Jenn and I discovered a fabulous seafood store just a short distance from our apartment the other day. It is better than any seafood store I have been to in the Maritimes. Anyhoo, Jenn's friend Liz stopped by for shopping and dinner and we had a feast of mussels and periwinkles. Best of all, I bought fillet of alligator!! I've got to research some recipes but I'll be sure to let you all know how it was after I make it.
That is all for now but I think Jenn has plans on writing an entry tomorrow.
